Since inception SGVS has been operationalising its all development efforts in Wadrafnagar subdivision of Sarguja. But initial experiments were confined to a single village, Rajkheta which later developed as model village for watershed programme. Later, about 25 villages of the same subdivision and 4 villages of Shankargarh subdivision were taken for the wider expansion of the organization’s activities and for wider benefit of community too. At present, the organization is working on ‘A High Impact Mega Watershed Project’ in Shankargarh & Kusmi blocks of Balrampur district.
Sarguja Gramin Vikas Sansthan from the beginning is working between the tribal communities that are persecuted and mostly depend on the natural resources for their survival.
The organization keeps its specialization in Watershed Development & Management, Technical support, monitoring & SWOT analysis, advocacy, community mobilization, PRA & micro planning, consultancy, capacity building, education and awareness, research and documentation etc.
