SANTOSHI SHG MADE A WELL BY OWN LABOUR CONTRIBUTION
Situated on the border of Uttar Pradesh Charchari village had acute crisis of drinking water. Residents of Katwaripara hamlet tried many times for getting any kind of assistance from panchayat for digging a well in their hamlet but they could not succeed. They became hopeless. SGVS motivated and inspired the members of Santoshi SHG and other villagers to dig the well at their own. Determination and hard work of community accrued fruitful result. They dug the well 30 feet deep with 10 feet width. Now the well has 5 feet water, which is sufficient for their daily needs. Moreover, after getting the training of kitchen gardening from SGVS some group members have grown various types of vegetables such as potato, brinjal, tomato, onion, etc. around the well for household consumption.
