MAHADEV SHG REPAIRED THE DAMAGED PRIMARY SCHOOL
Primary school sited in Chouradand hamlet of Jogiyani village was damaged for 2 years. Teacher was forced to teach the children in the open ground. Jogiyani panchayat was insensitive towards the school. Villagers tried many times and put up many proposals in gram sabha meetings seeking repair of the school, but panchayat always ignored the proposal. SGVS organized the people to repair the school building from their own contribution. And the villagers did. They contributed timber, roof tiles, lime and distemper for white washing and labour. School building got repaired and classes are regularly being conducted in the building. Mahadev SHG anchored this community action.
